I eat yakisoba like your grandma

So here I am with my blonde hair looking like I forgot to put on my false teeth. (I didn't, still wearing it). I had it colored so that people will be dazzled by the hair instead of the braces. You can laugh at me all you want now but after these come off, I will be the one laughing at you. Remember that.

Yesterday marked the official first day of spring - Vernal Equinox Day. Sounds evil I know but actually it's very drama. It is a day of the year when the daytime is exactly as long as the nighttime and signals the end of the cold cold winter and the coming of the much more welcomed season of spring. I shall spare you the philosophical bull and comparisons to life shite I managed to come up with because I, too, wouldn't care. However, to honor this day let me show you what to expect to see in the coming days. If you were here in Japan, that is.

Japanese Plum Blossom Festival, held in Yoshino Baigo every 2nd or 3rd week of March, is located at the entrance of Chichibu-tama-kai National Park. To get there, take the train JR Ome Line to Hinatawada Station then walk 15 minutes to the park. 25 if you're in high heels and short skirt. When we were there last year, I found out that if you dig your heels into the soil hard enough, you won't fall on the incline.

But really I have never in my entire life smelled a place as sweet as that. And the sights were Monet paintings come to life. The ramen, eaten on low tables while sitting on the tatami mats by the hills, never tasted so good. It was literally a feast for the senses.

Anyway, March 21 is also a non-working holiday so after a nice picnic, Jon bought me a camera.

Because I'm such a good girl and all.

I saw Tobey Maguire in the camera section of Yodobashi today. I wanted to go up to him and tell him that I really liked him in Brokeback. Then I realized that was Jake Gylenhaal. Nge.

He looked like he needed a bath. He was madungis and a bit malangis. In other words, just my type. hehe

Ang mga burgis

It's my last day here in Manila and thankgod because I've been feeling so restless and sleepless lately. I used to think that it was because I was missing Joaquin and Jon but now I know it's just Jon (yihee).

So yesterday I was in full tai-tai mode with me lounging by the Palms pool, sunglasses and sunblock on, watching over my son play with Ate Michelle, and eventually heading off to the jacuzzi and spa. Also, lunch and dinner at the country club restaurant ordering of course, club house sandwich.

Lifeguard: Ma'am I'm really sorry but the maids are not
allowed to swim in the pool. Papagalitan po kami.
Me: Sister ko yan.
Lifeguard: Ay sorry po!
Me: No prob.
Ahehe. My (real) sister was not the least bit surprised or offended. Have I forgotten how it is here?!

Plus their internet connection sucked.
