Bom Bom BOM

There are taiko drummers practicing on the street just beneath our windows. I can feel my heart pound in time with the beat. Joaquin is at the balcony waving at the men in shorts and summer kimono. Underneath my tongue, I can still taste the salty-sweetness of the yakitori we bought from the stall at last night's Bon festival. And in about a few minutes, we'll all have dress up to go to the museum for this special art exhibition. I'm soaking up the culture, see.

YET. At the back of my mind, I can't help but hope that we have free WINS again tomorrow so I can watch ASAP.

Tokyo had a power outage yesterday. Our area wasn't affected so we were completely in the dark (oy pun yan) until we went to Jon's office. Atre - our usual shopping haven- was still closed! People were milling around confused! All servers crashed! My husband was in Tamachi! And most importantly, Atre, our usual shopping haven, was still closed! Siempre, my first thought was terrorist attack. Then end of the world. Seriously. Can you tell I'm affected by Atre closing?

There was chismis going around in Pinas office that something got blown up , ala-9/11. I didn't start that. LOL.

Then, there were reporters and cameras milling around waiting for Atre to open. So when it finally opened its doors for all same-minded women like moi, they started rolling. And I dragged Joaquin so we can pass by the cameras para maki-extra. Camwhore talaga. I didn't get to watch local TV though. Who knows maybe we were on primetime? It's not everyday that Atre opens at 2pm instead of 11am.

I love it when the it's opening time and all the pretty salesladies in their ultra-fashionable clothes are standing in line in front of their shops, heads down, hands clasped in front of them, bowing low at each and every person that passes by. Kulang na lang they throw rose petals. I feel like a princess. A princess in walking shorts and ratty shirt.

Just kidding. I was wearing a nice dress and pearls.

Summer bummer

Punyeta, summer na naman. Ang init! Iitim na naman ako! Mamamawis! I hate I hate it! Leche! Bring back spring! Bring back winter! Please! Let autumn come early this year!!!

Sorry, I'm an eskimo trapped in a tropical island girl's body. I like my velvet coats very much, thank you.

In further news, I need to lose 5 kilos. I haven't lost a friggin pound since I started "dieting". I wonder why? Ok, this is what I ate for dinner:
a slice of white bread
a matchstick sized cream cheese
half a peach
half a cup of rice
about half a cup of chicken curry (japanese kind) with 2 itsy bitsy pieces of chicken breast
8 almond wafer thins (technically not cookies but not really thin so I was confused)

I wonder why????
